Sadly for the time being clay shooting is not avaiable

To make a short story long this came about with the law change from the chch attack and was postdated so it came into affect 2023-2024 and covers more than just commercial clay shooting.
in fact without a law change/ reversal which the current government is dragging there feet on and may never do, without deep pockets clay shooting may have to be left off your bucket list .
Now we got this from one of the heads of the arms office and it is so out there and far reaching it is almost unbelievable a government would do this but this law says ALL shooting ranges (target shooting) have to be certified . This includes lining up a bunch of cans on the back fence to shoot with a BB gun . I sh it you not!! it is illegal for you to go to your mates 500Ha farm line up some targets and pop them off (I know someone who got a warning for this in the first week of October 2024 and they had done it on that farm once a year for decades without a problem)
Now for us taking into account quick experience shooting like we provided was not taken into account when making this law at all
While we have been told there may be another way. however we are to busy this year to look into it and I wouldnt hold my breath anyway, for now the cost of the certification and the changes we have been told as it has to run more like how clubs do it put the price of clay shooting out of most northlanders budgets with around a 300% cost increase and the 15-30 min quick shoot would now take 60-90 min with only the same shooting time.
So for now there is no clay shooting and I believe with the exception of clubs and retreats this is all of northland with around 80% of ranges like this closing nationwide








Action Village Clay Shooting has been set up to provide for corporate functions , birthday parties, stag functions and general outings. setup for the beginner shooter through to the experienced casual shooter with no licence or experience required.

Guns: under and over select fire double barrel 12 gauge.
Ammo: no. 7-8.5 28gram low recoil competition trap shells
